Bayrampaşa consists of 11 neighbourhoods and approximately 275 thousand residents. Bayrampaşa’s history goes back to the Ottoman Empire. It was chosen as a military deployment and headquarters during the siege of Istanbul by Fatih Sultan Mehmed in 1453. Bayrampaşa was later used for defence purposes, and military hospitals, barracks and shelters were built in the region.

Industry in Bayrampaşa; It has turned to areas such as spare parts, automobile repair, mould making, electrical electronic parts and hardware tool production, plastic casting, cold iron processing and textiles. There is no agricultural area.

It has an important place in terms of historical artefacts and the Maltepe Military Hospital, which is now reserved as the service building of the Riot Police Branch Directorate, was built in 1827.

The wave of immigration, which started in Bulgaria in 1927 and reached its peak since the 1960s, was effective in the formation of Bayrampaşa’s socio-cultural infrastructure. The diligence of Balkan immigrants and the value they attach to family ties have made Bayrampaşa one of the most liveable neighbourhoods in Istanbul.

Besides, the Big Istanbul Bus Station, which is the biggest transportation point of Istanbul, is also in this district.

Real Estate Investment in Bayrampaşa

Bayrampaşa is located in the centre of districts such as Eyüp, Zeytinburnu, Gaziosmanpaşa and Esenler. Its economy based on trade and industrial production is highly developed. The demand for real estate is increasing every year in this district. Therefore, Bayrampaşa is seen as one of the regions with the highest investment potential.

As of the end of 2020, Kocatepe, Muratpaşa, Cevatpaşa and Yıldırım have been the most valuable neighbourhoods in Bayrampaşa district for housing. Average for sale residential property size is 100 square meters.
