G\u00fcng\u00f6ren is located on the \u00c7atalca Peninsula in the European side of Istanbul. It is the third smallest district of Istanbul in terms of area after Adalar and Emin\u00f6n\u00fc. G\u00fcng\u00f6ren consists of 11 neighbourhoods. G\u00fcng\u00f6ren is adjacent to Zeytinburnu, Esenler Bak\u0131rk\u00f6y and Bah\u00e7elievler districts. The population of G\u00fcng\u00f6ren, which has a surface area of \u200b\u200b7.2 km2, is 258,441 as of 2019.The district of G\u00fcng\u00f6ren, which is expected to be re-established in the urban transformation project, was named after a village in the Mahmutbey subdistrict of Bak\u0131rk\u00f6y.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The district has received intense immigration since 1950. At the same time, the population of the district increased significantly, as the citizens of Romania and Bulgaria settled in G\u00fcng\u00f6ren. In parallel with this increase, construction has also increased. Housing prices have increased by 2.18 per cent in the last year in the G\u00fcng\u00f6ren housing market for sale. Average depreciation period in G\u00fcng\u00f6ren district is calculated as 16 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As of the end of 2020, the most valuable neighborhoods in G\u00fcng\u00f6ren district for housing are Tozkoparan, Gen\u00e7osman, Mehmet Nesih \u00d6zmen, Abdurrahman Nafiz G\u00fcrman and Mare\u015fal \u00c7akmak.
